BOOKING AN IELTS TEST
Although booking the IELTS test is an easy process but here is a quick checklist of what you should keep in mind when booking your IELTS test:
1. Test Type:
Since there are many types of testing offered by the University of Cambridge, ESOL, the British Council, and IDP; be sure to select the correct test type. Whatever your goals and objectives are for taking the IELTS test, you can choose between Academic, General Training, Life Skills, or UKVI.
2. Test Format:
IELTS can be taken in a traditional Paper-based or the modern Computer-based formats with no difference in the content and the structure of the test.
3. Test Centre:
Identify a test centre in your city or region or visit the Official IELTS Website to locate the test centre near you. You should have the option to book your test online or in-person at an IELTS Test Centre, but make sure to if the test centre offers your preferred test format.
4. Test Dates:
Be sure to check the test dates and book in advance to secure your spot at a preferred date and time.
5. Important Documents:
Ensure you have a valid photo identification document such as your passport or government issued photo identification, which is acceptable by the IELTS test centre. It is also suggested that you keep a coloured copy of your identification document ready to upload when preparing to register for the IELTS test.
6. Application Form:
Carefully read and fill out the application form, whether paper-based or online. Before you submit, cross-check your personal details, test type, test format, and test dates.
7. Fee:
Test fee for IELTS may vary by location or the test format you have selected. You can confirm the test fee through an IELTS test centre near you or online. Typically, payments can be made using a valid credit or debit card, but depending on your region, you may also have an option to make the payment at a bank. Apart from your payment confirmation, you will also receive a registration confirmation via e-mail within 3 working days. In case, you do not receive it, immediately contact your test centre.
