IELTS scores are known as “Band Scores.” As a test taker, you can expect to receive a Band Score calculated on a scale from 1 to 9 in each section: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. You will also receive an overall band score, which is based on the average of your band score from each section.

Band Scores for Listening and Academic Tests are calculated out of 40. There is only one Listening Test for both Academic and General Training, hence marking for both tests are the same.
